已在自家主場連輸2場的老鷹，如今碰上更大麻煩！老鷹昨宣布前役扭傷右踝的三分射手柯佛整季報銷，最可能在今天東區決賽第3戰頂替他先發的人選是貝茲莫爾，老鷹總教練巴登荷瑟說：「柯佛在隊上地位無可取代。」
柯佛在第2戰跟騎士後衛戴拉維多瓦爭搶地板球時，不慎傷到右踝退場，儘管一開始照X光並無大礙，卻經核磁共振檢驗後發現，他的腳踝出現嚴重拉傷，完全沒有機會在剩餘季後賽上場，老鷹頓失一員大將。
「我們都會想念柯佛，」巴登荷瑟說，「對他而言，這是非常痛苦的結果，特別是他跟這個團隊一起達成不少目標，更在領導、組織與細節，扮演相當重大的角色。」麥克和傑金斯也可能取代柯佛的先發位置。
本季場均12.1分、4.2籃板的柯佛，每場投進2.9顆三分球，三分命中率更達4成92，季末雖陷低潮，他的三分外線仍是老鷹爭勝武器之一，如今少了他的外圍火力，主力小前鋒卡洛膝傷也未痊癒，老鷹後勢看跌。
反觀騎士當家控衛厄文膝傷出現好轉跡象，前役缺席的他，昨天戴上全新護膝進行輕微練球，今天有望復出先發，騎士總教練布拉特不願冒險，強調一切等到賽前再說，「這個系列賽還沒結束，厄文對我們太重要了。」
